How comes I can go to Spain and buy a beer in the supermarket for less that 30p! Even a four pack for less than £1.20?

This is equivalent to the £3.99 on average I spend here!

Why?

Don’t tell me it’s tax. It’s greed by the breweries who think we are dumb enough to blame the greedy chancellor for everything.

Tax beyond the wildest imagination at 100% would mean it would equal £2.40, so don’t blame it all on number 11, look behind the greedy breweries lies!

Last month I wrote to one of the biggest of the breweries about this and low and behold they ignored the basis of my letter and wrote back saying it was mainly due to the tax that my pint cost more, plus also the UK market is smaller than the European! What a load of rubbish that is! Spain, Italy, France are all similar size markets to our own.

The funniest point raised in their letter I have saved to last! They actually claim that they believe the price differential here encourages healthy and sensible drinking, as id to suggest they have our health and well being at heart.

Have you ever heard such a load of old rubbish!

I reckon we should start brewing at home, that would shaft their profit margins!

‘Neil my son, I couldn’t agree more about the blatant rip off by these big out of control breweries, but don’t let the chancellor off so lightly! Our odd pint here and there is funding his fellow governments waste and throwing good money at useless causes, how much public money will be thrown at the London Olympics, ask yourself that! As for home brew, Do me a favour, i’d rather drink nats pee, actually there probably isn’t much difference’


So now we can join an alternative call supplier to BT and get free calls. Free calls? I think this is some what of a joke, you can get them as long as the person you want to call is on the same package as you, with so many packages and companies out there the chance of this happening is surely becoming less and less. They should be made to make free calls free across all of the fixed lines, with mobiles the only exceptions!

Recycle I went to my local recycle centre with a car full of stuff. All good intentioned I emptied the car. What did I find, the newspaper and magazine recycle skips full to bursting no room, like they hadn't been emptied for a month, the glass one split into 6 different types I just stared confused and the one with clothes had an air of stench around it I dared not even venture near it. From now on the bin gets the lot. My local council should be shot!

Wrinkle Cream I went into my local department store to get advice on some anti aging cream. There are so many on the market now I was not really sure which one would suit my type of skin the best. I went to see the girl on the cosmetic counter and she recommended me a type, thirty pounds a bottle. On my way out i was asked by another cosmetics counter if I needed help. So I thought, why not ask for a second opinion. Low and behold i was recommended a completely different brand for a completely different skin type. This week I have visited 3 department stores and have now been recommended 11 different creams! It's become obvious to me that not one of these girls has a clue!
